Kassym-Jomart Tokayev got acquainted with the position of member of the National Council of Public Trust, journalist Mikhail Dorofeyev on the situation in the domestic information space.
During the conversation, the two touched upon the issues related to improving the competitiveness of the media, effective implementation of the state information order, and protection of journalists’ rights.
Mikhail Dorofeyev, on behalf of the media community, expressed gratitude to the President of Kazakhstan for the decision to decriminalize article 130 of the Criminal Code on defamation.
Noting the importance of developing high-quality content on television, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed that the State will continue to support the Kazakh media.
