Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Lotte is a long-standing partner of Kazakhstan that has made a significant contribution to the development of economic cooperation between the two countries.
The President highly appreciated the Korean company’s activities in Kazakhstan’s food industry, highlighting the successful project to develop the Rakhat brand and modernize production facilities in Almaty and Shymkent.
The Head of State also emphasized Lotte Global Logistics’ plans to expand transport and logistics infrastructure, with a view to subsequently increasing access to regional and international markets.
Particular attention during the meeting was paid to the development of the hospitality sector. The President welcomed the signing of an agreement to construct the first Lotte-branded hotel in Almaty, noting the potential for further expanding the company’s presence in Kazakhstan.
In turn, Shin Dong-bin confirmed the company’s plans to invest in the food industry, logistics services and hospitality sector. He also announced the company’s intention to participate in the development projects of Alatau City, including the creation of the Iconic Complex.
Following the meeting, Hotel Lotte Co., Ltd. and Sensata Invest exchanged memoranda of understanding on the construction of Lotte hotel in Almaty, as well as between Lotte and the Alatau City Authority on a project for the construction of a hotel and residences in Alatau City.
