President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed UBTECH Robotics Corp.’s plans to establish a plant in Almaty for the production of robotics for educational and service applications.
As the President noted, Kazakhstan will become the company’s first manufacturing site outside China. The project is being implemented in line with the agreements reached in Shanghai in July this year.
The meeting focused on prospects for cooperation in education. Particular attention was paid to establishing systematic cooperation between UBTECH and Kazakhstan’s technical universities and colleges. The President also proposed establishing a joint center of excellence, within which the Kazakh specialists could participate in the company’s research activities.
The parties also discussed the comprehensive integration of UBTECH technologies in Alatau City, as well as the use of robotics in the mining and metallurgical sector, oil and gas industry and at major logistics facilities.
Zhong Yong thanked the Head of State for his particular focus on digitalization and artificial intelligence, in which Kazakhstan has achieved significant success. He also highly commended the favorable environment that has been established in the country, describing it as open, inclusive and focused on delivering tangible results. In his view, the implementation of joint projects will give impetus to the expansion of cooperation and the adoption of digital technologies.
