President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark Lars Løkke Rasmussen, who arrived in Astana on an official visit.
The Head of State noted that Denmark is a reliable partner of Kazakhstan in Northern Europe and the European Union. Next year marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
“We regard Denmark as a respected and influential European country and a reliable partner. I am convinced that our relations have tremendous potential, which can be fully realized provided that both sides work actively and purposefully in this direction,” said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The meeting highlighted positive momentum in trade, economic and investment ties. At the same time, according to the President, significant untapped potential remains for further deepening cooperation.
The Head of State welcomed the launch of Carlsberg’s flagship investment project in Almaty Region, highly commending its contribution to the development of Kazakhstan’s food industry.
In turn, the Danish Foreign Minister congratulated Kazakhstan on the upcoming 35th anniversary of Independence and noted the country’s significant achievements over the years.
He also reaffirmed Denmark’s interest in further strengthening political dialogue and expanding trade and economic cooperation with Kazakhstan.
“Kazakhstan is the leading economy in Central Asia. Danish companies already have a strong presence here, and interest in further expanding our ties is growing,” said Lars Løkke Rasmussen.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on prospects for cooperation in transport and logistics, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, critical minerals, agriculture and water security.
