President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with Pan Jian, Co-Chairman of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL), exploring the prospects for long-term cooperation in high-tech industries.
The Head of State welcomed CATL’s readiness to build a battery manufacturing plant in Kazakhstan. This enterprise could become the first of its scale in Central Asia.
The President noted that Kazakhstan has all the necessary conditions to establish a full production cycle from raw material processing to the production of finished goods.

In turn, Pan Jian stated that CATL regards Kazakhstan as an important and reliable partner for implementing joint projects in the company’s key areas of activity.
He also emphasized that CATL is prepared to assist Kazakhstan in achieving its strategic goal of carbon neutrality by 2060.
Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL), founded in 2011, is the world’s leading producer of electric vehicle batteries (with about 40% of the global market share) and ranks among China’s largest publicly listed enterprises. By the end of 2025, CATL’s battery sales volume reached 661 GWh, with revenues amounting to 62.6 billion dollars and net profit of 10.6 billion dollars.
